Google Wallet Launched Officially In India; Allows Quick Access To Payment Cards, Passes, Tickets, Keys Or IDs

Back in 2022, Google officially launched its digital wallet app- Google Wallet in the US markets recently the app was found on the Play Store for some Indian users but there was no official announcement on the availability of this app in India.

Google has today officially launched the Google Wallet app for Android users in the Indian market. This digital wallet app gives users instant access to boarding passes, loyalty cards, metro cards, and more even without the Internet.

This app is launched in collaboration with partners like- Hyderabad Metros, Domino’s, MakeMyTrip, Air India, BMW, PVR Inox, Ixigo, and more. Google Wallet is available for download via the Play Store.

Google Wallet is a secure and private digital wallet that offers users an organized location for easier access to everyday essentials like-

  • Save Movie or Event tickets- Partnering with PVR and INOX, Android users can now conveniently add their movies and event tickets
  • Access Boarding Passes- Collaborating with airlines, travelers can now easily save and access their mobile boarding passes. Pixel device users can add their boarding pass to their Google Wallet by simply taking a screenshot and tapping “Add to Google Wallet.”
  • Redeem loyalty or Gift cards- Shoppers can now store and use digital copies of their loyalty and gift cards
  • Ride Public Transit- Travelers can also easily store their transit tickets
  • Use Your Android Phone on your corporate badge- Workspace access will be more convenient with the ability to store and access a corporate badge in Google Wallet
  • Digitize physical documents- Easily create new passes in your wallet from any image containing a barcode or QR code like airline boarding passes, luggage tags, or parking receipts
  • Automatically view important tickets from Gmail- After booking a ticket, the confirmation sent to a person’s Gmail account will automatically appear in their Google wallet, if they have smart personalization settings in Gmail turned on

Although Google Wallet in India will not support payment-related features, users still need to head to the Google Pay app.
