India’s First WhatsApp Payment Gateway for charging EVs
Log9 Mobility, a subsidiary of Log9 Materials and Pulse Energy, a startup of EV SaaS has joined their hands together with a vision to make the first WhatsApp Payment Gateway for EV charging in India a reality.
EV owners, after the service has been launched, will be able to scan and pay for charging their EV vehicles using just their WhatsApp account at any InstaCharge partnered charging stations.
Inorder to bring the WhatsApp based charging, the CPOs or the Charge Point Operators will have to partner with either Pulse Energy or Log9 Mobility through a sign up procedure.
Currently EV users are really stressed out with the number of charging station apps and the headache they have to have inorder to find the nearest charging station.
Every EV charging stations also has a different charging app and there is a huge chance that a customer might send his money to a wrong app and get his money lost as money once credited is irretrievable.
With the tie between the two companies this issue will also be addressed. Pulse Energy has over 550 charging points all across India and after initiating the WhatsApp payment facility, users can seamlessly make their payments. However, at the initial stage, only the 3W EV owners will be able to use the service. The facility will slowly be expanded to the 2W and the 4W EVs as well.
Kartik Hajela, the COO & Co-founder of Log9 Mobility, Devang Mistry, the CTO & Co-Founder of Pulse Energy and Ravi Garg, the Director of Business Messaging at WhatsApp India spoke about their joined venture. The companies aim at bringing the best charging experience for all the EV users and plans to become a significant part of the EV ecosystem which is growing in India.
