Redmi Note 12 4G to feature Snapdragon 680’s Pro version

Rumour has it that Redmi is working on a Pro version of the Redmi Note 12 4G for both the global and Indian markets. The model numbers of the device were recently spotted in the IMEI database. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Kacper Skrzypek, has revealed vital information on the chipset that will power the Redmi Note 12 4G.

According to the tipster, the Redmi Note 12 4G will be powered by the Pro version of the Snapdragon 680. However, there is no information on what the final marketing name of the new chip could be or how much it will differ from the SD680 chip. It seems that Qualcomm may soon announce the new chip.

According to Xiaomiui’s report from January, the model numbers 23021RAAEG and 23028RA60L belong to the Redmi Note 12 4G, heading to the global and Indian markets. These models are codenamed “Tapas,” and they do not have support for NFC connectivity.

Model number 23021RAA2Y also belongs to the global version of the device. Codenamed “Topaz,” the device supports NFC and runs on MIUI 14-based Android 13.

The device is expected to arrive in two variants: 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The other details of the device are yet to be revealed.
