POCO X5 GT IMDA certified, likely to debut in Q2 2023
POCO has recently launched the POCO X5 5G and the POCO X5 Pro 5G in the global market. Now, a new POCO smartphone has received approval from the IMDA authority of Singapore. It appears that it could be the forthcoming POCO X5 GT.
In the below-shown screengrab, an upcoming POCO smartphone with model number 23049PCD8G can be seen listed in IMDA’s database. The letter ‘G’ in the model number is a good hint that it is aimed at the global market. In addition, the numbers “2304” indicate that the device may go official in April this year.
While the listing does not mention the name of the device, it is speculated that it could be the POCO X5 GT. The same device has been previously seen on other certification platforms like Indonesia’s TKDN and Europe’s EEC. The Indian version of the device has the model number 23049PCD8I.
Reports have claimed that the POCO X5 GT will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo (or Note 12T), which is expected to debut by March end in China. So far, reports have revealed that the X5 GT will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display and the upcoming Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chip. Other rumoured specifications of the Note 12 Turbo include a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging, a 16MP front camera, and 50MP triple rear cameras.
