Genesis revealed the first look of GV80 Coupe Concept at the brand’s house center in New York

Just ahead of the New York International Auto Show, Genesis unveiled a four-passenger, coupe-style version of GV80 at the brand’s house showroom in New York. Though it just doesn’t look like just the introduction of a concept it appeared that the concept is ready to go into production. The GV80 Coupe Concept hints at sportier things to come from the South Korean manufacturer owned by the Hyundai Motor Group .

As per the automaker, “ The GV80 Coupe Concept’s front fascia sports the Double G-Matrix Patterned Crest Grille surrounded by quad lights, which have evolved from multi-lens array technology to seamless light performance. Cooling is optimized by four slots within the bumper that reduce shadowed thermal flow .”

The company did not disclose the powertrain configuration of the GV80 concept till now. The coupe concept used in GV80 is said to get inspired by the X Speedium Coupe concept. GV80 was already considered a posh SUV and now this new version with coupe styling will surely be stealing the hearts of many. The design of the GV80 Coupe concept includes a grippy sports steering wheel with a three-spoke design, and standard seats have been replaced with individual bucket seats with carbon-filled shells. The seats are trimmed in Alcantara and with bright orange detailing.

       

The images showed the bright orange color used throughout which is dubbed as Magma. According to Genesis, Magma symbolizes the self-confident and passionate attitude of its home market of Korea. Two LED lines also run across the rear of the GV80. Most of the attention is on the chopped-down rear while the headlights appear to have been slightly slimmed down too. Also, the G-matrix strut brace is used at rare for extra rigidity.

Genesis didn’t reveal when the GV80 Coupe will be launched for sale in the markets but it is expected to be soon.
