Samsung Expands The Security Update To More Galaxy S22 Series Users
After the latest release of the April 2023 security updates to the Galaxy S22 series users in Europe, it is expanded to South Korean users now. Users in other regions can expect to receive the update in the coming weeks.
Samsung released the Galaxy S22 series last year, equipped with Android 12. Since the release, the phones have received monthly security updates and in the latter half of 2022, they received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. Recently they also received the One UI 5.1 update, which added more software features.
The latest update addresses 66 security flaws,55 of which affect Android, and fixes various Exynos security flaws, stability improvements, bug fixes, and feature enhancements to deliver better performance.
The April 2023 update also, as per the information, adds the Image Clipper feature to the S22. This feature allows users to extract an object or a thing from a photo from the background and share the separate object of the image by saving it.
Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra users who are eligible for the update should be able to update their phones upon receiving the notification or by triggering the process by opening the Settings app on the phone, accessing “Software Update”, and then choosing “Download and Install”. After installing the update, you will not be able to download the old software because of updates to the security policy.
The update is approximately 1GB in size. The Firmware version for Galaxy S22 is S901NKSU3CWCE, for Galaxy S22+, it is S906NKSU3CWCE and for Galaxy S22 Ultra, it is S908NKSU3CWCE.
