Redmi 7 Began Having Android 10 Upgrade
Redmi 7 has started getting Android 10 updates in India, according to the article. The global mobile version received Android 10 updates last week and is now confirmed to be rolled out to smartphones in India as well. The upgrade contains the December 2020 Android Security Patch. The Android 10 update is being rolled out to small users as it is in a secure beta process. It is planned to extend to more users if there are no crucial bugs discovered in the build.
The Android 10 update for Redmi 7 in India includes build number V11.0.3.0.QFLINXM, as per the Gizmochina article. Xiaomi launched Android 10 updates to Redmi 7 in China back in June, and the phone’s global edition last week, the article said. It’s being rolled out to Redmi 7 phones in India right now, but there’s little detail on when Redmi 7 will be updated in other regions for a long time.
Xiaomi revealed last week that Redmi 7, along with Redmi Y3, Redmi 6A, and Redmi 6, would not be upgraded to MIUI 12. The company claimed that “compatibility and performance issues” were the reason not to include smartphones in the MIUI 12 upgrade schedule, even after they were initially found.
Redmi 9 was introduced with MIUI 10 in India in April 2019. Last year, it was revised to MIUI 11.
So the Android 10 update is expected to be the last big update to Redmi 7.
