Tipster leaks chipsets powering Oppo Reno 10 series, featuring Snapdragon 778G, Dimensity 8200, and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1
Rumors are swirling about the impending release of the Oppo Reno 10 series in China, with some reports suggesting a launch in May or June. As the launch date approaches, leaks are gradually revealing details about the Reno 10 lineup. Recently, tipster Digital Chat Station disclosed that the Reno 10 series will feature three chipsets: the Snapdragon 778G, the Dimensity 8200, and the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. Oppo has apparently chosen the Snapdragon 778G, which was announced in 2021, over newer Snapdragon 7-series chipsets to power the Reno 10.
The Reno 10 Pro is expected to sport the Dimensity 8200, which was unveiled in Q4 2022. Meanwhile, the Reno 10 Pro+ – the most powerful phone in the series – will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip from 2022. In November 2022, Oppo launched the Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro+, which were equipped with the Snapdragon 778G, Dimensity 8100-Max, and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, respectively. Based on the latest leaks, it seems that only the Reno 10 Pro will receive a chip upgrade in the Reno 10 series.
The Reno 10 series is rumored to feature a periscope zoom camera, with the Pro+ model likely to have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera. It is not yet clear whether the periscope zoom camera will also be available on the Pro model.
While Oppo did not release the Reno 9 series outside of China, the Reno 10 family is expected to debut in the global market.
