Now LinkedIn users can get their account verified like Twitter users and that’s too for free
First Twitter then Facebook and now LinkedIn has announced a new way of verifying users’ identities and employment roles. Unlike Twitter and Facebook, LinkedIn verification won’t cost you even a single penny which seems like a hard step in the era of cost-cutting and economic pressure. LinkedIn will partner with CLEAR in the US and the accounts will be verified by the user’s government id and phone number. As soon as the accounts are verified users will see the “Verification” section underneath the “Connect” and “Message” buttons.
Verified users
Bots and fake profiles have always been a problem for LinkedIn and Facebook, Twitter. One side where Twitter brought this feature first, followed by Facebook, and LinkedIn has also joined the clan. Last year LinkedIn brought the “About the Profile” feature through which a user can see if another member has verified his phone number and has a work mail id. It also shows the date when the user joined and when he updated his information.
Now this step in partnership with CLEAR by LinkedIn enables US LinkedIn members to get their account verified. There is one more way to demonstrate the authenticity of your profile by verifying through a company-issued email address. As of now, 4,000 companies have been added and with time LinkedIn will add more companies into it.
