Google Prompts to Update Apps

Most of us have gone through a situation where a frequently used app or an app that you have opened after a while crashes all of a sudden and you’ll have no idea about what you should do. You might have probably restarted your device, closed and re-opened the app, or might’ve even cleared its data to fix the issue. As the last resort, you would’ve headed to Google’s Play Store and checked if there is an app update available and updating the app, in most cases had fixed the issue.

Yes, most app updates fix a lot of issues with an app, and when an app crashes or fails to open, the best thing to do is to update them if an app update is available. It might be with this in mind, Google introduced this new update.

Wondering what it is?

Google has introduced a new feature that sends prompts to Samsung Galaxy devices to update the app if an app update is available. The prompt feature gets activated and sends the prompt to the device once it detects an app crash that has happened in the foreground.

The prompt will be with the message stating that an app update is available and the update might fix the issue. The total size of the update and options like “No thanks” and “Update” will also be there on the prompt, from where the Galaxy users will be able to update the app directly or simply reject it.

However, it is to be noted that this new feature will only be available to Samsung Galaxy devices running on Android 7 or its later versions.

The Android 14 beta update is also now live, here’s how to install it.
