Honda Compact SUV testing continues , spy shots from the test mules revealed
Recently a new Honda Compact SUV was spotted undergoing tests in India and as per a new report by RushLane, the testing of Honda’s upcoming SUV is continued.
The compact SUV segment already includes some great cars like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun, MG Astor, and many more. Hence it is assumed that to get noticed among these best-selling SUVs, Honda really needs to provide a good SUV so that it gets noticed by the buyers.
As per the interiors spied from the test mules, it was revealed that this upcoming compact SUV will be based on a tweaked version of the platform used for City Sedan which is expected to measure 4.3 meters long. Also, the overhangs have been reduced to get a longer wheelbase. It is assumed that the SUV could have a wheelbase of around 2700 mm.
Honda’s new compact SUV has a typical boxy profile and the front fascia includes a large grille section and a chunky bumper. It will be equipped with top-mounted headlamps with integrated LED DRLs.
The door panels seem to have mild and smooth cravings along with sporty alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, and roof nails. While the taillights appear to be borrowed from WR-V SUV which was recently launched in Indonesia. The SUV consists camera on the ORVM probably for ADAS functions or a 360-degree view.
The automobile company is expected to include a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, connectivity suite, large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
Initially, the new compact SUV is expected to offer only a petrol engine while the top-spec variants are expected to get a hybrid powertrain based on the same engine. The launch of this upcoming SUV could take place in mid-2023 at an assumed price of around Rs. 10 lakhs.
