Redmi 12 certified by Indonesia’s TKDN authority
A Redmi device with model numbers 23053RN02Y / 23053RN02L was recently spotted in the IMEI database with the Redmi 12 moniker. The said device was also spotted in the databases of the EEC and FCC, which indicates that it will be released on the global market. A new certification suggests that the smartphone will also be released in Indonesia.
A Xiaomi device with the model number 23053RN02A has received approval from Indonesia’s TKDN authority, as seen in the screen capture below. Since the model number is quite similar to the 23053RN02Y / L that surfaced in the IMEI database last month, it appears that the 23053RN02A could be the model number of the Redmi 12 for the Indonesian market.
The listing has no information on the specifications of the Redmi 12. However, it does reveal that it will be a 4G LTE device. The FCC certification of the device revealed that it may arrive with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. It is expected to run on the Android 13 OS, which will be overlaid with MIUI 14.
In all likelihood, the Redmi 12 will be positioned above the existing Redmi 12C. The 12C has a 6.71-inch IPS LCD panel that offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1650 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. The Helio G85 chipset powers the device and ships with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. It runs on the MIUI 13-based Android 12 OS.
The Redmi 12 has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 50-megapixel dual rear cameras. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support via a microUSB port.
