The more efficient BS6 Phase 2 compliant Skoda Kodiaq SUV launched
It didn’t take long for Skoda Kodiaq SUV to complete its customer allocation for this year. Just after the 10 days of its announcement this development came. While the company was busy making deliveries of the booked car, further booking was stopped. It’s booking again opened but with a price hike of Rs 37.49 lakh which was earlier Rs 34.99 lakh.
Now the recent news says that Skoda has updated the seven-seater Kodiaq SUV in order to comply with new BS6 Phase 2 norms which are priced at Rs 37.99. It will be imported via the CKD route and assembled at the Aurangabad plant. The company is well aware of its previous allocation and has increased its allocation by 50%.
Performance
Skoda Kodiaq will be powered by the 2 liters, turbo petrol engine similar to its previous model. According to the company, some changes have been made in the engine in order to meet emission norms which has also made it 4.2 percent more efficient than its predecessor.
Its engine still delivers 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The company claims that this SUV can achieve 0-100kph in 7.8 seconds similar to its replaced model. It is equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch(DSG) and 4×4 system with Dynamic Chassis control. For the safety features it has got nine airbags, standard brake assist, stability control, multi-collision braking, and park assist with hands-free parking.
Features
It comes with automatic door edge protectors that appear when the door is open. It keeps the car safe from scratch and dents. Comfort has been enhanced with newly added headrests and a lounge step for the middle row. It sports an 8.0-inch touchscreen that is equipped with in-built navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Allocation
The company has increased the allocation from 1200 units to 3,000 units. It was well reflected in the statement made by lZac Hollis, brand director, Skoda India, to Autocar India “I can’t say how many [we have planned], but I can assure you and everyone that it is a good number of units and we will be able to satisfy the demand. While we are opening bookings for deliveries in the first quarter of 2023, we already have a plan in place for the rest of the year and will take orders quarter-wise.”.
