German site of Oppo is no more showing any information regarding Oppo product, is it a final goodbye
Oppo’s German website seems to have removed all the promotional information about its product. You read it right because the event follows this way:
- Oppo signed a patent licensing agreement with Nokia in 2018 which mainly covered 4G communication-related patents.
- Both sides negotiated over the previous patent and the new 5 G-related patent.
- Nokia asked for an exorbitant fee of EUR 3.0 per device for the 5G standard essential patent from Oppo.
- Oppo considering the price high moved away which led to Nokia launching a patent infringement lawsuit against Oppo in July 2021.
In an earlier report, we reported about the win of Nokia in Germany against its rival Oppo. Oppo and OnePlus had to halt their sales of smartphones and smartwatches in Germany after this loss. As soon as sales and promotion were halted in Germany, Nokia took its cash cow “patent” to Australia to sue Oppo again there.
Not only this NOKIA had also asked for Royalty from Oppo in India, however, the plea was rejected by the Honourable Delhi High Court last December.
If we talk about the , only shows the highlights of Oppo’s partnership with the UEFA Championship League. The homepage also shows a footnote in which it’s written that Reno 8 Series and Find N2 Flip are not available in Germany.
It’s not surprising to see the Oppo website in Germany like this because its sale was earlier halted and even it laid off its marketing and sales teams as per reports. Oppo was once optimistic about the case as it even expressed the hope to resume the operation and settle the dispute but things went the other way and now it’s about the homepage of Oppo.
