Samsung is eventually removing chargers and earbuds from upcoming mobiles

Samsung’s upcoming phones will still not come with charging blocks, the company has announced, but they’re leaving some wiggle space. In a Q&A on why headphones and charging bricks are no longer included in the package, Samsung claims that the incremental elimination of cables from its phones will make them more sustainable.

This response suggests that while the next generation of their phones does not come with the provided attachments, others may. Samsung has other lines that it markets as Galaxy, from its folding phones to its more budget options, and it’s left the room to keep a charger in any of them for a little longer.

Maybe Samsung wants to keep the charger around in cheaper phones so customers who aren’t computer fans can have a higher chance of purchasing them, or maybe they don’t want to upset people who purchase their $2,000 phones. It could do one, or neither, and it would always count as “gradually.”

Though, the business does not seem to be following Apple’s path of removing plugs out of its lineup of existing phones. The listings for Note 20 Ultra and Note 10 also show a charger in the box.

Although a company delivering older goods with something that is no longer used with the new and newest may seem strange, it means Samsung doesn’t have to re-make all the boxes for its old products, and that customers won’t end up in an uncomfortable situation when they watch a phone launch on YouTube and then have a decidedly different experience.
