Motorola Unveils the Razr 40: Cutting-Edge Foldable Phone with 144Hz Display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Processor, and Dual Cameras

Motorola has finally unveiled the much-awaited Motorola Razr 40 series in China. However, the global launch is also near and the company is all set to get this smartphone in the Global market also which is going to happen within a few hours. The Motorola Razr 40 shares several features with the Ultra variant, including a 6.9-inch OLED LTPO display with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout, FHD+ resolution, and a 144Hz refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+ and boasts a 10-bit color panel. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Razr 40 sports a smaller 1.5-inch secondary screen on the back panel, located beside the camera sensors.

The camera setup of the Motorola Razr 40 consists of a 64MP primary sensor, accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, there’s a 32MP front-facing camera. In terms of audio, the device features dual stereo speakers, Snapdragon Sound, and Dolby Atmos.

Under the hood, the Motorola Razr 40 is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It houses a 4,200mAh battery with support for 30W wired and 8W wireless charging. Out of the box, the phone runs on Android 13 OS. If you remember Xiaomi recently launched the Xiaomi 13 Lite with the same processor.

Connectivity options on the Razr 40 include a USB-C port, NFC, WiFi-6E, 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.3. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and has an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The Motorola Razr 40 is available in three configurations: the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage starts at RMB 3,999 ($562). The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at RMB 4,299 ($604), while the top-tier 12GB + 256GB model costs RMB 4,699 (~$660). The phone is offered in Azure Grey, Cherry Powder, and Bright Moon White colors.
