Samsung Watch 6 series 40 and 44mm passes FCC certification, a step close to launch

Samsung Watch 6 series after appearing on various certification websites has now passed FCC certification. A tipster named SnoopyTech shared a document on Twitter and wrote “Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Pro just passed FCC”. This brings it a step closer to its near launch in the market.

According to the certification listing, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 with a 40mm size is identified by the model number SM-R930, while the 44mm variant is recognized by the model number SM-R940.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is set to include various connectivity options such as Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/a, NFC, and GNSS as per the FCC listing. Just like its predecessor, the Samsung Watch 5 lineup, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 will also support wireless charging. The wireless charger designated for the Watch 6 carries the model number ER-OR900, which remains consistent with the charger used for the current Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series. As per the FCC listing, it is also expected that it may come with a travel adapter with model number EP-TA800 which corresponds to Samsung’s 25W wired charger.

Expected features

Reports claim that the company has made some significant changes in the smartwatch series in order to improve and add new things to it. Its battery capacity has been increased from 284 mAh/410 mAh to 300 mAh/425 mAh. Its other features have also been tipped that revealed information about its processor, display, sensor, and other things. It will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos W980 processor. Watch 6 series smartwatches are expected to come with bigger displays, thinner bezels, and curved frames.

One that hasn’t yet been seen in smartwatches is its Blood Glucose monitoring feature for users to keep track of the level of sugar in their blood. Its renders revealed that Watch 6 series smartwatches will come with a physically rotating bezel. It will have a magnetic loop strap and might bring multiple strap options too.

These reported features not only have excited buyers but also have made them eager to buy it but reports around it say that it might be launched in August.
