YouTube Content Creators Hacked: Tanmay Bhat, Barkha Dutt, and Others Targeted in Tesla Scam Cyber Attack

In a recent turn of events, content creators such as Tanmay Bhat, Abdu Rozik, and Aishwarya Mohanraj certain YouTube accounts were hacked including famous female journalist Barkha Dutt.

Threat actors hacked the mentioned accounts with the goal of spreading a Tesla scam.

Along with the mentioned content creators, the threat actors also compromised the official YouTube account of the news outlet Mojo Story on 4 October.

Tanmay Bhat stated allegations that two-factor authentication was bypassed for this YouTube account, which has 4.42 million subscribers. His account was renamed ‘Tesla Corp’ by the hackers.

Barkha Dutt expressed disappointment in the functionality of YouTube. She mentioned that every time when such an incident happened, they requested YouTube to freeze the accounts so that the hackers can’t carry out any alteration. However, YouTube kept replying back that process of investigation has to be followed.

According to the latest reports, the accounts of Mojo Story, Barkha Dutt, and Abdu Rozik have been restored.

YouTube hasn’t responded with any official statement as of now. They are making the victims of the cyber-attack go through certain procedures. They have been requesting details and redirecting them to specialist teams. This has been the process of response so far by the company.

As investigations are being carried out, Netizens are of the opinion that threat actors are trying to spread a Tesla scam with these attacks.
