Virtus 1.5 TSI gets a manual gearbox option while Taigun gets GT Plus manual transmission and GT DSG trims; Here’s everything you need to know

In the month of April, on the demand of its consumers, Volkswagen announced that it will soon launch a new manual variant of Virtus 1.5 TSI. Today the company has finally expanded its Taigun and Virtus lineup by launching Virtus 1.5 TSI with a manual gearbox option and Taigun with GT Plus manual transmission and GT DSG trims. This also marks the first time that Virtus GT is available with a manual gearbox.

The Virtus 1.5 TSI is priced at Rs.16.89 lakh, Taigun with GT Plus Manual transmission is priced at Rs.17.79 lakh, and Taigun with GT DSG trims is priced at Rs.16.79 lakh.

Earlier Virtus was the only India 2.0 model that was not offered with a manual gearbox with a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine but now Volkswagen India has changed that scenario. All the features from previous Virtus and Taigun GT models will be carried over to the new variants such as red-accented brake calipers, an electric sunroof, a dual-tone exterior finish, a 16-inch alloys, a 10-inch touch screen unit, and an 8-inch MID. However, the addition of a six-speed manual gearbox in Virtus 1.5 TSI could make the drivers more engaging.

Apart from this Volkswagen has also launched the GT Edge Limited collection for Taigun and Virtus. Based on the GT Plus variants, the Edge collection adds new dark color schemes to the two models- Deep Black Pearl for Virtus and Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte for Taigun.
