Virtually try on clothes and refine your choice with Google’s new AI feature
Google has brought new features for all those who love shopping for online clothes for themselves and for their loved ones. It has two new features that bring the fitting room experience to you: Virtual try-on apparel uses generative AI to show you clothes on a wide selection of real models, while new filters help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
virtual try on
This new feature gives buyers the freedom to virtually try clothes on a variety of real models. It uses an AI model that shows one clothing image accurately reflecting how it would drape, fold, cling, stretch, and form wrinkles and shadows on a diverse set of real models in various poses. People with different skin tones, sizes, body shapes, ethnicities and hair types were selected so that it can cater to a wide range of buyers.
As of now, this feature has only been rolled out in the US for shoppers. Buyers can virtually try on women’s tops from brands across Google, including Anthropologie, Everlane, H&M and LOFT. Google will be introducing more features for users later this year.
Refined search using filter
Has it ever happened to you that after a long search operation, you found a cloth but then you think “the same cloth design in white colour would look cool with my black jeans”? And when it’s about online shopping it becomes more difficult. Google’s new feature allows buyers to fine-tune the product until they find the perfect piece. Its machine learning and new visual matching algorithm refine the selected cloth for inputs like colour, style and pattern.
You will see options from stores across the web when you filter out the cloth using filters like price, colour, and pattern.
