Redmi K70 Series Smartphone Tipped to Feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset

Xiaomi had announced its Redmi K60 series smartphones late last year, in the month of December, and the fourth addition to the series, the Redmi K60 Ultra is expected to have its launch this year. The brand will also be announcing the Redmi K70 series smartphones after the launch of the Redmi K60 Ultra and one among the upcoming smartphones is likely to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Redmi K70 Series Smartphone Expected to Feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset

Qualcomm has confirmed to conduct its Snapdragon Summit days of 2023 in the month of October, ahead of its usual schedules, and the brand will be unveiling many of its latest chipsets at the event including the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Now a report from the well-known tipster on the Weibo platform, Digital Chat Station states that one of the smartphones of Redmi’s upcoming K70 series will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is likely that the Redmi K70 Pro smartphone, which is to arrive as the successor to the previous Redmi K60 Pro smartphone, might be powered by the upcoming chipset.

Regarding the Redmi K60 Pro smartphone, the smartphone was launched equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset of Qualcomm, with a primary clock speed of 3.2 GHz. It is also integrated with the Adreno 740 GPU and runs on the Android 13-based MIUI 14 operating system.

The upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset might have two variants – one for tablets and PC devices, and the other for smartphones. The smartphone variant is going to have the next-gen ARM cores and is expected to have an architecture with a Cortex X4 core, 2 Cortex A720 cores(clocked higher), 3 Cortex A720 cores (clocked higher), and 2 Cortex A520 cores. The chipset has also scored a single-core score of 2563 points and a multi-core score of 7256 points on Geekbench. On the AnTuTu benchmark, it scored 1,771,106 points.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit days will commence on the 24th of October this year as confirmed by the brand and with its launch, more about the chipset and the devices to feature the upcoming chipset will be revealed.
