Chat privately and maintain your privacy with WhatsApp’s multi-layer privacy protection features
In recent times, we have noticed that WhatsApp is constantly working towards improving privacy features in its platform. WhatsApp’s privacy functions now range from end-to-end encryption to the latest Chat Lock feature.
Earlier, in the month of March, we informed you when WhatsApp introduced their Chat Lock feature. You can check on it here.
The feature went live in India recently and has added one more layer to WhatsApp’s many layers of privacy maintenance.
WhatsApp’s multiple layers of protection now include the following options: end-to-end encryption, chat lock, 2-step verification, a view once, silence unknown callers, encrypted backups, leave groups silently, receive notifications when mentioned from muted groups, and many more.

WhatsApp recently introduced the silence unknown caller option, which would restrict spam callers and save us a lot of annoyance and trouble. We earlier covered this update, which you can check here.
Prior to that, WhatsApp also brought in a feature that allowed you to mute groups and still receive notifications if your name is mentioned. We also covered this update, which you can check here.
The new Chat Lock feature has rolled out globally and is now being used by users across the world.
Netizens shared their reviews in a recent Twitter update by WhatsApp, which highlighted their privacy protection features.
Some users expressed that turning on the Chat Lock feature is a lengthy process and requested a few clicks to avail of the option. Another user stated that, although they like the feature, they can’t access their locked chats easily.
