Telegram Stories

After years of waiting, Telegram has finally decided to introduce the Stories feature on its platform. Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram has officially made the announcement and has confirmed to bring the feature to Telegram in the month of July 2023. Initially, the company was very reluctant to introduce the feature to the platform as many other social media and messaging platforms had this feature, but since its users have always been wanting it, Telegram had decided to give in and introduce the feature.

Stories in Telegram will be having a simple design with an expandable section on top of the chat. This enables its users to easily view the Stories and post them and while not using it, the section will be minimized to give more space on the user interface.

Just like other platforms, Telegram users will also be able to react to Stories with emojis and also respond to them via messages. A privacy control has also been added, which allows Telegram users to select the audience for their Stories. Options like “Everyone”, “Contacts”, “Close Friends” and “Selected Friends” will enable them to do so. Extensive control options have also been added which enable Telegram users to hide messages posted by any contacts and move the contact to “Hidden Contacts”.

Telegram Stories also offers its users access to add captions, tags, or links and also offers various photo editing tools as well. Another exciting feature of Telegram Stories is the dual camera support with which its users can record both with the front and rear cameras at the same time.

Users can also select the duration of the time period till which the Stories should appear. Stories can be selected to appear for 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, and 48 hours. An option to permanently add stories to the profile page is also given, with privacy settings on each Story.

Once the feature is made available next month, users will get to experience Stories on Telegram themselves.
