- COVID-19 Restrictions
This year’s parade looked a little different than usual due to the restrictions and precautions taken against Coronavirus. The number of spectators had been reduced to 25,000 from around 1.25 lakh last year. The parade for children who receive bravery awards did not take place this year. Keeping in mind social distancing, the size of marching contingents was reduced from 144 to 96. All members of the tableaux contingents from various states, ministries and government departments underwent Covid testing before attending the celebration.
