Online Bus Booking Service by IRCTC is launching soon
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) unveiled its online bus booking service, which went live to serve the nation on 29 January, IRCTC announced on Friday.
“IRCTC under the leadership of Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution is gradually moving towards firmly positioning itself as the first government ”One Stop Shop Travel Portal” of the country,” read a statement issued by IRCTC.
It also added that in a recent development to provide consumers with a more comprehensive travel experience, IRCTC, which is already engaged in the online rail and flight ticket booking market, launched its online bus booking services, which went live to serve the nation on 29 January 2021.
The introduction of this service through the IRCTC Mobile-App is expected to be completed in the first week of March, which will also allow the public to book bus tickets via mobile.
According to the release, the IRCTC has connected more than 50,000 state road and private bus operators covering 22 states and three union territories to prove online bus booking services to passengers.
The new function of online bus booking would allow passengers to view a range of busses and select the best bus to ride, taking into account the route, services, feedback, ratings and available bus photos. In addition, consumers will be able to select their pick-up and drop points and timings and eventually book their trip at a fair price with the current bank and e-wallet discounts as well.
The IRCTC’s latest market initiative would allow the last mile of connectivity to travelers already using the IRCTC services to book train and flight tickets.
