The Rising Demand of Pokemon cards leads Company to Rush the Printing Process

As the series celebrates its 25th anniversary, the demand for Pokémon cards has been substantially increasing in the last few weeks. Today, In order to meet the increasing demands, The Pokémon Company announced that it will be reprinting trading cards.

On the company’s support page, they released a statement stating, ” We are aware that some fans are experiencing difficulties purchasing certain Pokémon trading card products due to a very high demand and global shipping constraints impacting g availability,” while stating so, they also confirmed that it is reprinting impacted products at “maximum capacity.”

However, there’s no specific date on the whereabouts of the retailers are to be expected to receive new shipments.

Over the past few months, Pokémon trading cards have been in high demand as the products are selling out quickly at retailers while the older cards are worth $375,000, sold by third-party sellers. Additionally, card opening videos have gained popularity on YouTube over the last year, even getting over millions of views.

To celebrate the occasion the franchise is working on new ways to celebrate the occasion. They’re partnering with McDonald’s to give out collectable cards when a customer buys a Happy Meal at the fast-food chain.
