The Adobe Max 2023 event was conducted very recently in Los Angeles, California, and the company’s latest innovative product – the Project Primrose(dress), which was unveiled and demonstrated to all, was the star attraction of the event and has by now received a lot of attention.
Technology companies have started to view their products more than just as gadgets or something to be used, and we had previously seen Honor launching a purse-like foldable smartphone – the Honor V Purse. Adobe’s Primrose Project – Dress, might have also been introduced aligning with this vision.
Speaking more about the dress, it is not made with a traditional fabric material but has been crafted using the wearable and flexible, non-emissive textile that the brand had revealed on smaller items before (on a canvas and a handbag). It allows designers to display content on it via Adobe Firefly, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Stock, and also with Adobe Illustrator.
Christine Dierk, the researcher who is behind the dress, showcased it at the event on herself and also explained how interactive the dress can be. With just a click of a button, one will be able to refresh their looks in a moment’s time.
The dress also has embedded sensors within, and on changing to a particular mode, without having to press a button, it will change and respond automatically to its users, just by moving or turning. This is more or less why Adobe calls the dress interactive.
Adobe’s Primrose Project is re-shaping the idea of clothing and puts forward the idea that fashion doesn’t have to be static, but can be dynamic, as well as interactive. Project Primrose thus becomes a canvas for designers and also enables one to express themselves in multiple ways.
