PM Modi virtually interacts with Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, invites him to Global Partnership on AI summit
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual interaction with Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai lauded Google’s partnership with HP to manufacture Chromebooks in India. The PMO said “The Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Google’s 100 languages initiative and encouraged efforts to make AI tools available in Indian Languages. He also encouraged Google to work on AI tools for Good Governance”.
Prime Minister Modi also welcomed “Google’s plans to open its global fintech operations center at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) in Gandhinagar,” said the statement.

Mr. Pichai informed PM Modi about Google’s plan to “improve financial inclusion in India by leveraging the strength and reach of GPay and UPI”. He also emphasized ” Google’s commitment to contribute to the development trajectory of India”.
India will be hosting the Global Partnership on AI Summit this year in December 2023 in New Delhi. PM Modi invited Google to contribute to this summit. It’s an international initiative and India is one of the founding members with countries like Germany, France, Australia, South Korea, Singapore, and the United States.
