Elon Musk: Do Androids dream of Electric Cars?
Pretty sure many of you were wondering which book was Elon Musk reading when he yesterday posted this tweet:
He followed up by re-tweeting his confirmation on actually reading a book and not metaphorically, which he made sure to a pun, meta4.

Today, he tweeted asking a question which is also the title of the book he was probably reading which he mentioned in his previous tweet.

This refer to a book written by James Wilt, titled Do Androids Dream of Electric Cars? Public Transit in the Age Google, Uber, and Elon Musk.
In the book, he discusses and imagines what public transit would potentially look like in order to be green and equitable. In his book, he also considers some serious environmental and other topics related to society such as climate change, economic and racial inequality, urban density, accessibility and safety, work and labour unions, privacy and control of personal data, as well as the importance of public and democratic decision-making. Further, he states that the world hasn’t really come that far from 1961. It also reflects upon the failure of urban planners to capitalize on the promise of efficient and accessible public transportation floats many of the same arguments.
