The Official Trailer Of “The Garfield Movie”, Starring Chris Pratt Is Out Now
Sony Entertainment has today dropped the official trailer of the upcoming animated movie “The Garfield Movie”. The trailer is out now on YouTube and other social media platforms.
Chris Pratt is playing the title character “Garfield” in this movie alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Brett Goldstein, and Hannah Waddingham. The movie is expected to release on May 24, 2024.
The trailer reveals the gist of the story which the movie is going to deal with. The trailer starts by showing little Garfield being a stray and finds the lonely Jon Arbuckle, his future owner, sitting alone in a restaurant eating pizza. He notices the hungry and lonely Garfield outside and tries to give him some of the pizza, but the cat eats the whole pizza and creates havoc in the restaurant.
After establishing Garfield and his owner, the trailer shows an outdoor adventure Garfield goes on and meets his long-lost father, Vic, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson.
This movie is directed by Mark Dindal and the script is written by David Reynolds. Mark Dindal previously directed “Chicken Little” and “Emperor’s New Groove”, and David Reynold is famous for “Finding Nemo”.

Columbia Pictures is the producer and Alcon Entertainment, owns the rights to the “Garfield” comic series and the brand is the financer of the movie. Sony Pictures is distributing this movie worldwide excluding China.
The first movie in the Garfield franchise, “Garfield: The Movie”, came out in 2003 and starred Bill Murray as the title character Garfield. He also starred in the sequel, “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties”, which came out in 2006. Though these films received negative critical reception, they achieved commercial success.
These live-action and CGI-hybrid movies were followed by two direct-to-video movies, “Garfield Gets Real” and “Garfield’s Fun Fest”, and two animated series, “Garfield and Friends” and “The Garfield Show”.
