Bill Gates: ’I’ll often play around with iPhones, but the one I carry around happens to be Android”

Microsoft co-founder and billionaire philanthropist, Bill Gates during an interview revealed that his most preferred phone operating system. His response was unexpected by many as he has a personal preference for Androids!

Gates while participating in his first meeting on Clubhouse, which ironically is only limited to Apple devices at the moment, is the increasingly popular invite-only conversation app.

During an interview between Journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin and Microsoft Co-owner Gates, the journalist asked Gates preference between Android and iOS. To this his response was, “I actually use an Android phone,” Gates said. “Because I want to keep track of everything, I’ll often play around with iPhones, but the one I carry around happens to be Android.”

Sorkin questioned asks, “So Android vs Apple – is this a religious thing?”

Gates replied stating that “Some of the Android manufacturers pre-install Microsoft software in a way that makes it easy for me,” “They’re more flexible about how the software connects up with the operating system. So that’s what I ended up getting used to. You know, a lot of my friends have ‌an iPhone‌, so there’s no purity.”

He further went on explaining how some manufacturers ship a few Microsoft apps by default, making it easier for him to analyse how those apps connect with the operating system.

However, iOS users can use both Microsoft and Google’s apps on their devices, but the platform limits the kind of integration with system features due to the locked-down nature of Apple’s platform.
