Looking at the specs offered on the two devices, it is difficult to term one of them the best.
Performance-wise the latest Galaxy S21 FE equipped with the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset offers a better performance when compared to Motorola’s Edge 40 which is powered by the Dimensity 8020 chipset.
For the display, the Edge 40 smartphone has a larger 6.55″ P-OLED display with a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Samsung’s latest Galaxy S21 FE features the brand’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a smaller 6.4″ screen size, similar 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, and a slower 120Hz refresh rate.
Coming to the cameras, the Edge 40 has a dual rear camera unit, whereas the Galaxy S21 FE (New) offers a triple rear camera setup. The Edge 40 smartphone however has a better 50MP main camera and a slightly better 13MP ultrawide lens. The Galaxy device in addition to the 12MP main and 12MP ultrawide cameras, has an 8MP telephoto camera too. Also to note, The two smartphones have the same 32MP selfie cameras.
Regarding the batteries, the Galaxy S21 FE (New) is backed by a 4500 mAh battery, while the Edge 40 packs a slightly smaller 4400 mAh battery. Notably, the Motorola device supports a much better 68W wired fast charging feature, as well as the same 15W wireless charging support, but lacks the reverse wireless charging feature present on the Galaxy device.
So as mentioned, comparing the two and declaring one of them the best is not that easy as both the devices have their pros and cons, and when one falls back in terms of one spec, it is better in terms of the other. The Motorola Edge 40 has a larger display screen, faster refresh rate, better main camera, slightly better ultrawide lens, and a faster wired charging feature. The Galaxy S21 FE (New) has a better processor, added periscope telephoto lens, slightly better battery backup, and reverse wireless charging support.
