Today is the birthday of Former ISRO chairman Udupi Ramachandra Rao
Today is the birthday of an Indian scientist who worked really hard for the ISRO that is the Indian Space and Research Organisation and his name is Udupi Ramachandra Rao . He was the chairman of ISRO from 1984-1994 and made a lot of significant.
Rad, I won’t be able to write. You do it,u do it; murmured the professor, not with the usual firmness one was accustomed to hearing; UR Rao Quotes voice appeared frail. We shook hands and parted. This happened a few weeks back at his office in Antariksh Bhavan, the headquarters of the Indian Space Research Organisation in Bengaluru. He was pretty clear about the state of his health, yet his remnant wish was seeing in the best position it could possibly achieve. That was my last meeting with the visionary and the talisman of the Indian space program. I was privy to a sort of parental warmth and affection from him, ever since I came into his fold in 1984. He had a defining influence in my professional journey.
He was the man behind initiating the development of the geostationary launch vehicle GSLV and the development of cryogenic technology in 1991.
Even google shared a nice Doodle celebrating the birthday of the former chairman. Mr. Rao died on 24 July 2017, Indiranagar, Bengaluru.
