The Chinese smartphone and other consumer electronics maker, OPPO, had teased the arrival of the A59 5G smartphone to the Indian market, and after two days, the brand officially unveiled it in the country. The sale has also been confirmed to take place soon and its key specifications have been revealed.

OPPO A59 5G Unveiled in India
OPPO’s A59 5G smartphone now introduced for Indian customers features a Glowing Silk design and is silky smooth and stylishly slim. It will be offered in two color choices – Silk Gold and Starry Black.
The device also has a 90Hz Sunlight display, capable of delivering ultra-vivid visuals to its users. It also supports extra screen brightness, enabling users to easily view their device in intense sunlight. For a better audio experience, the device also has a 300% Ultra Volume Mode.
Coming to its performance side, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 (7nm) chipset, assuring high performance and low power consumption. It will also be coupled with up to 6GB/128GB storage and will support RAM expansion. The A59 5G also runs on the ColorOS custom skin, with features such as Photo Information Protection, FlexDrop, and Screen Translate.
It is already revealed that the smartphone will sport a dual rear camera setup and a selfie camera within a water-drop notch, and speaking more, the device comes with an ultra-clear camera which is crisp and clear in capturing shots encapsulating the tiniest details, has a Portrait Mode, and supports an AI Portrait Retouching feature.
OPPO has also made its latest smartphone look and feel more like a premium device with the best quality and is IP54 dust, water, and splash resistant. To ensure that the smartphone stays new for a long time, OPPO is also promising a 36-month fluency protection, to take the worry of its users away.
Regarding the battery, it packs a 5000 mAh battery, having a battery life comprising of 16 hours video playback and 7 hours of gaming. The device also supports the 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging feature, letting users charge it to 52% in just 30 minutes. A 5-minute charge is also enough to get a call time of 3.3 hours.
Price and Availability
About the price and availability, OPPO will be making its A59 5G smartphone available to Indian customers on the 25th of December 2023, on the day of Christmas, at a starting price of Rs. 14,999, as tipped earlier. This will probably be for the 4GB/128GB storage variant, whereas the expected 6GB/128GB model may likely be priced 16,999. Other launch offers include up to Rs. 1,500 bank benefits and a 6-month no-cost EMI option.
