OPPO Reno 12 Pro likely to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, top-notch periscope camera
The OPPO Reno 10 series, which debuted in May 2023, featured three devices, such as the Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+. The Pro+, which was also released in the global market, came equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The said chip was inherited by the Reno 11 Pro, which debuted in China in November 2023. The Reno 11 Pro available in the global market is just the rebranded version of China’s Dimensity 8200-powered Reno 11. Fresh information that has emerged today via reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the upcoming Reno series of smartphones for the Chinese market will continue to feature a Snapdragon 8-series chipset.
According to the tipster, the topmost model in the Reno 12 series will feature the successor of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. It is still unclear whether the Reno 12 series for China will consist of two or three models. What seems evident now is that either the Reno 12 Pro or the Reno 12 Pro+ will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
The tipster also added that the said device will be equipped with a top-notch periscope telephoto camera. Unfortunately, he did not share any more details about the Reno 12 series.
The Reno 10 series was unveiled in May last year. Therefore, it is likely that the Reno 12 series may go official around the same time this year.
