Xiaomi Mix Flip with satellite connectivity support bags important certification, likely to launch soon
Smartphone brands such as Oppo, Vivo, Motorola, Huawei, and Samsung are already offering flip-style vertically foldable phones in the Chinese market. This year, Honor and Xiaomi are also expected to enter the flip phone market by unveiling the Honor Magic Flip and the Xiaomi Mix Flip. While there is no new update about the Honor device, it appears that the Xiaomi offering is inching towards launch as it has received an important certification in China.
The above screengrab shows that a Xiaomi device with model number 2311BPN23C has been approved by the MIIT authority in China. As per the previously seen IMEI database listing, this device is expected to be called the Xiaomi Mix Flip in the Chinese market. Reports claim that it will not launch outside of China.
The screenshot of the certification reveals that it will be a 5G device and have support for satellite connectivity. Unfortunately, it reveals nothing else about the device. Speculations surrounding the device claim that it will launch earlier than the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. Reports suggest that the Fold 4 may go official in July or August this year, which hints that the Mix Flip may debut by late Q2 this year.
As far as specs are concerned, the Xiaomi Mix Flip is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
