ZTE Tipped to Launch New Foldable Devices Soon Under its Nubia Branding
Previous reports over the past few months had been pointing that ZTE, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, might be working on its very first foldable device, and a tipster on the Weibo platform has now revealed that the brand might unveil its foldable devices soon in market.
Here’s more about it.
ZTE’s Upcoming Nubia Foldable Devices
This update comes from the Chinese tipster who goes by the name – Smart Pikachu, who in a Weibo post mentions “ZTE Fold is coming soon, with a large size and a small size”. If we look into older updates, first a horizontal foldable form factor device with the moniker “Nubia Z60 Ultra”(model number – NX801J) was reported to arrive as ZTE’s first foldable device, but later recent updates suggest that a vertical foldable form factor/clamshell device carrying the name “Nubia Flip 5G”(model number – NX724J) will probably be the first foldable device from the brand.
While Smart Pikachu’s post doesn’t really confirm any moniker or a particular model, we can assume that “large size” and “small size” are the horizontal and vertical foldable devices. As this is just an assumption we will have to wait for more updates to confirm it, and there is a chance that the tipster might be talking about a single foldable device with a large inner display and a small cover screen. Again to make us believe that there are two devices, it has been mentioned that the “big fold”(might suggest a horizontal foldable device) has potential.
What is common in all the reports is that the upcoming foldable or foldable, be it the fold, flip, or both, it/they will be arriving with the “Nubia” branding. To note, the Nubia Flip 5G has allegedly also appeared on the IMEI database.
It is best advised to wait until more updates arrive to get clarity on the matter. Speaking of another recent update concerning the brand, the Nubia Z60 Ultra smartphone was launched last month. The Year of the Dragon Special Edition model sale started yesterday on the 25th of January 2024 in China. Do check it out.
