Is Xiaomi preparing to leave Indian laptop market?

Is Xiaomi going to exit the Indian laptop market? This question has begun coming to the minds of buyers who could not spot Xiaomi laptops online anywhere. Recently a famous tipster named Abhishek Yadav wrote on X that Xiaomi laptops are not available on Flipkart, Amazon India
website.

When we went to dive deep into this we found Xiaomi had changed the ‘Laptop” & Tablet ” tab on its website navigation bar to “Tablet”. And when we searched the Mi Notebook on Google we ended up finding them with the “Notify Me” written. These out-of-stock Xiaomi laptops are listed with no date when they will be in stock. This can raise questions in anyone’s mind that Abhishek Yadav left us with in his post “Xiaomi wants to exit the laptop business in India?”

Despite India being a competitive market Xiaomi has well established itself with a range of tech products. And recent results shared by Counterpoint in a report revealed that Xiaomi topped with 18.3% market share in Q4, 2023 in the Indian smartphone market. However, the laptop market is not as fortunate for Xiaomi as the smartphone market in India.

As per the report by Canalys, the market is dominated by HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, and Asus. As per the first quarter report of 2023 released by Canalys, a total of 2.959 million laptops were sold in India of which HP accounted for 1.01 million though Xiaomi had mentioned it in the Others section.
