IQOO Z9x 5G receives NBTC certification, launch imminent

Last month, an iQOO phone bearing the model number I2219 was approved by Indonesia’s TKDN certification platform. The same device was spotted with the iQOO Z9x 5G moniker at the Bluetooth SIG certification earlier this month. Now, the iQOO Z9x 5G has received approval from Thailand’s NBTC platform, which indicates that it may launch either by the end of this month or by early May in the country.

The above screengrab shows that the iQOO Z9x 5G has surfaced with model number I2219 in NBTC’s database. However, it does not reveal anything else about the device.

Earlier this month, Vivo launched the Vivo T3x 5G in India. The device is exclusively available through Flipkart in the country. Rumours suggest that the iQOO Z9x 5G will be a rebranded version of the T3x. Like other iQOO phones, it is likely to be sold via Amazon in India.

Hence, the iQOO Z9x 5G is expected to feature a 6.72-inch IPS LCD 120Hz display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a 6,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging. It may arrive with an 8-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera system on the back. The device will have a side-facing fingerprint scanner and run on FunTouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14.

On April 24, iQOO will launch the iQOO Z9x, Z9, and Z9 Turbo in China. The Z9x heading to China is also said to have the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip onboard. Whether the global and Chinese markets will receive the same Z9x phone is still up in the air.
