Oppo Reno 12 tipped to inherit Reno 11’s Dimensity 8200, other specifications leaked

Oppo is reportedly working on the Reno 12 series of smartphones for China. Speculation suggests that the Reno 12 and 12 Pro could make their debut in June. According to a recent leak, the Dimensity 8300 and Dimensity 9200 Plus chipsets will power the two phones, respectively. However, a contradictory leak by reliable leaker Digital Chat Station that surfaced today reveals that the Reno 12’s engineering prototype has the same chip that powered the Reno 11. In addition, he also shared some other details about the phone.

According to the leak, the engineering prototype of the Reno 12 is equipped with the Dimensity 8200 chipset. The same chip also powered the Chinese variant of the Reno 11.

DCS said that the Reno 12 will arrive with 16 GB of RAM and a capacious 512 GB of internal storage. The phone’s rear camera setup reportedly includes a 50-megapixel primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with a 2X optical zoom and an f/2.0 aperture.

The new leak further states that the Reno 12 will pack a 5,000mAh battery, supplemented by 80W fast charging technology. Notably, the device boasts a sleek and lightweight design, enhanced by a screen featuring a micro-curvature design on all four sides.

As mentioned above, previous leaks have claimed that the Reno 12 Pro will have the D9200+ chip onboard. It is likely to feature the same screen, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom, and 80W fast charging.
