OnePlus 13 will not have a square camera island, but 13R may: Tipster
So, for all those who were concerned about the news that OnePlus may opt for a square camera island for the OnePlus 13, we have a new update. This update comes from a reliable tipster, DCS, who didn’t specifically write a post but rather replied to a comment from one of his followers. The follower asked him by sharing the alleged render whether it was for GAGA(OnePlus), to which DCS replied, ‘Apparently not.’ So, according to DCS, there will be no rear square camera island for the OnePlus 13.
However, another tipster, Yogesh Brar, took to X and shared two distinctive sketches. One of them was the OnePlus 13 and the other was the OnePlus 13R. This would mean that Fixed Focus Digital wasn’t entirely wrong because, according to Yogesh, OnePlus will opt for a circular centered camera island for the OnePlus 13, while the 13R may come with a square camera island.
If there are no big changes, the OnePlus 13 and 13R could end up looking like this..

OnePlus has maintained a similar design for both the base and the R variant since the launch of the OnePlus 11. If this new leak is to be believed, OnePlus may break away from this recent tradition. Since these are early leaks, they may sound interesting but should be taken with the grain of salt.
OnePlus 13 Expected Specs
Just earlier this morning, it was tipped that the device will come with a 5800 mAh battery with 100W fast wired charging support and 50W wireless charging support. Additionally, OnePlus 13 is expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Currently, there isn’t much information available about the 13R, but we can expect it to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. However, this is just a pure prediction based on how OnePlus launched the 12 and 12R.
It is worth noting who will launch their smartphone first with this new chipset, OnePlus or Xiaomi. However, a prediction from DCS suggests that Xiaomi may launch its 15 series first, possibly in October.
