Oppo Announces Reno 12 Series Launch Date in China, Targeting Gen Z Users

Oppo has finally announced the launch date of its upcoming Reno 12 series in China. The company has released a range of teaser videos, focusing primarily on Gen Z users. According to official information, the launch is set for May 23, 2024. Interestingly, the Poco F6 series is also expected to make its global debut on the same date. Additionally, the teaser image hints at the inclusion of Oppo AI, suggesting the presence of AI features in the series.

The Reno 12 series will include both a vanilla and a pro variant. According to earlier reports, the vanilla variant is expected to feature a Dimensity 8250 SoC, while the Pro variant will come with a Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset.

Furthermore, the Oppo Reno 12 will have the model number PJV110, and the Pro variant will have the model number PJW110 in China. There will also be slight differences in the memory options between the standard and pro variants. The standard version will offer three configurations: 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage, 16 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. The Pro variant is expected to come in two configurations: 16 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage.

The Pro variant is anticipated to feature a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor for telephoto with 2x optical zoom. In terms of battery capacity, the Pro variant is expected to come with a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

With the China launch date announced, a global launch is anticipated soon.
