This technology will be reducing Delhi to Mumbai travel time to Just 1 Hour
Since 2014, Virgin Group’s Hyperloop has been in the research and experimental stage. The new technology aspires to be the global future of mass transportation. This technology will be reducing Delhi to Mumbai travel time to Just 1 Hour.
Hyperloop systems can travel at speeds of over 1000 km/h, which is three times faster than high-speed rail and ten times faster than regular rail. This speed can drastically shorten travel times. In terms of travel time, Hyperloop believes that this revolutionary technology can easily compete with commercial planes, all while emitting no direct emissions.
According to the Hyperloop website’s route estimator, the distance between Delhi and Mumbai, which is about 1153 kilometers, can be traversed in an incredible 1 hour and 22 minutes.
How does it work?
Hyperloop pods move through tubes that produce a vacuum-like environment. There is very little aerodynamic drag since the pods travel in a vacuum.
Magnetic levitation and propulsion technologies will be used to boost the speeds of the Virgin Hyperloop pods. The pod’s electromagnets, which lift and guide it to its destination.
The pods can move in a convoy like a train, but because they are not physically connected to each other, they can diverge to reach various destinations.
