Qualcomm has finally confirmed the date of its upcoming Snapdragon Summit 2024 event. As per the recent announcement by the company it will held between October 21 to October 23 in Maui, Hawaii. Qualcomm during this annual event brings out its upcoming flagship processor like last year it announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Similarly this year the company can announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset which Qualcomm’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Don McGuire, confirmed at MWC 2024.
This new processor will come with the Qualcomm Oryon a supercharged CPU with a new NPU mentioned by Don while announcing the upcoming processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset is based on TSMC’s 3nm process. It is said to come with the 2 + 6 design rather than Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s 1 + 3 + 4 layout. The processor’s cores are reported to have a peak clock speed of 4GHz. When it comes to scores earlier reports have said that the Snapdragon achieved almost 3,000 points in single core test and around 10,628 in multi-core tests. It can also come with an upgraded GPU architecture with improved cache and memory compression technology.
Xiaomi 15 series can be the first to feature this processor just like how Xiaomi announced to launch Xiaomi 14 series last year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset just a day after the launch of the chipset. OnePlus can also come forth to equip its next flagship smartphone OnePlus 13 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Similarly, RedMagic 10 series and Realme GT 7 Pro are also expected to come with this upcoming chipset.
