Russia Can Block Apple And Google Services In Country Amidst Escalating US-Russia Tensions

We just saw how the US government announced its plan to ban the Moscow-based firm Kaspersky over security threats to the citizens of the country. Ever since the war broke down Russia and America have been fighting on every ground possible. Now Russia seems to have decided to take one of the extreme steps that will undoubtedly affect Russians to a great extent.

Recently Aleksei Didenko, a member of the Russian State Duma, said that Google, including its Android operating system and Apple’s iOS, will soon be blocked in Russia. He advised the citizens of Russia to not cling to services like YouTube, stating, “Soon Google will be blocked, along with Google Android. iOS will also be blocked, and this will not be our initiative.”

There are reports that says that Russia has already prohibited government officials from using these platforms. One side where Didenko like people is not ready to understand its adverse effect, users are said to be concerned about this. This is not the first time when Russia has taken such a step. In Russia western firms have been heavily fined for various reasons. Recently Netflix had to leave Russia and YouTube is reported to be slow down in the country.
