Google has announced the rollout of a software update for August 2024. The update will begin reaching all the Android 14 running Google Pixel device users from today. The rollout will continue for several weeks so it may take some time to reach you though as soon as it reaches you will receive a notification. This new update addresses several issues and fixes them.

The Aug 2024 update includes bug fixes and improvements for Pixel users – see below for details.

- Fix for issue with screen brightness flickering under certain conditions.
- General improvements for display performance and stability in certain conditions.
System
- Fix for issues occasionally causing devices to be in a reboot loop after factory reset in certain conditions.
User Interface
- Fix for stability issues when switching from a user without a screen lock, to a user with a screen lock under certain conditions
