MediaTek Helio G99’s Successor- Helio G100 SoC Makes Its Official Debut

MediaTek has today officially unveiled its latest Helio G100 SoC, this chipset arrives as the successor of the Helio G99 SoC. MediaTek Helio G100 includes a camera upgrade over its predecessor which allows the smartphone brands to use higher-res cameras in affordable 4G devices.

MediaTek Helio G100: Features

MediaTek Helio G99 allows camera support up to 108MP while Helio G100 allows camera support up to 200MP which means users will get to see camera resolution upgrades in 4G devices using this latest chipset.

Helio G100 chipset arrives with two Cortex A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It arrives with support for LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2. Camera features include- 3x ISP, AI Face detection, HW depth engine, AINR, Single cam/dual cam bokeh, Hardware Warping Engine, Rolling Shutter Compensation engine, MEMA 3DNR and Multi-frame noise reduction.

The chipset supports an FHD+ display with a 120Hz maximum refresh rate. It is paired with Mali G57 MC2 GPU. It supports 2K video recording at 30fps, FHD @ 60fps and HD@120fps.

Tecno has recently announced that this latest MediaTek Helio G100 processor powers the Tecno Camon 30S Pro. In the coming days, other smartphone brands are also expected to introduce smartphones powered by this all-new processor.
