[Update] Vivo Y36C Spotted on Google Play Console and Geekbench; China Launch Imminent
Update: Vivo Y36c is now official in China with MediaTek Dimesnity 6300 SOC. You can check the latest coverage from here.
The old story continues below.
The Vivo Y36 series in China already includes the Y36, Y36m, and Y36i. It appears that a new smartphone will be added to the Y36 series in the Chinese market. This device will be called the Y36c, as we have spotted it on the Google Play Console and Geekbench database with the model number “V2357A”. This same model number was recently spotted on the 3C certification with 15W fast charging support. At that time, its moniker wasn’t known, but now we know it is the Y36c. Vivo is set to launch this smartphone in the affordable 5G segment of the Chinese market.
Vivo Y36c on Geekbench and Google Play Console
According to the Google Play Console, the device is listed with the SoC codename “MediaTek MT6853T”, which corresponds to the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra paired with a Mali G57 GPU. It has two cores running at 2 GHz and six others at the same 2 GHz. As per the listing, it will run on Android 14 OS out of the box with at least 6GB of RAM. Furthermore, it is revealed to have a screen resolution of 720×1612 with a pixel density of 320 DPI.
The render revealed in the Google Play Console shows a similar design to what we have seen in the Y36 Series (China). You will get a waterdrop notch display with a thick chin at the front, whilst the back houses a dual camera setup placed on a rectangular camera deco in a circular cutout with an LED flash placed next to the camera cutout.
However, the Geekbench listing shows the CPU cores have been clocked differently. Unlike the Google Play Console, which showed eight cores running at 2 GHz, Geekbench reveals a total of eight cores with two cores running at 2.4 GHz and six cores running at 2 GHz, paired with 6 GB of RAM. The device has managed to achieve a single-core score of 614 and a multi-core score of 1,619. Furthermore, it shows that the device will boot from Android 14 OS out of the box, and like the Google Play Console, it doesn’t reveal which version of OriginOS 4 it will use. It’s worth noting that another prototype of this smartphone also ran on Geekbench with 8 GB of RAM. Therefore, we can expect two RAM variants: 6 GB and 8 GB.
Also, from the source code, it is revealed to be a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. At this stage, it is rather difficult to pinpoint which exact chipset it will come with, but it can be said that it will be from the Dimensity 800 Series.
The rest of the details are still under wraps, and a launch announcement for the Chinese market is expected soon.
