Elon Musk Explained The Reason Behind The Delay In FSD Beta 10.2
Tesla released the much-anticipated button that lets you request the FSD Beta on September 25th. Tesla will analyze your driving behaviors after you press the button, and drivers with the highest Safety Score will be given the opportunity to try out the newest FSD Beta.
Elon Musk Said “FSD Beta 10.2 rolls out Friday midnight to ~1000 owners with perfect 100/100 safety scores. Rollouts will hold for several days after that to see how it goes. If that looks good, beta will gradually begin rolling out to 99 scores & below.”
The assessment phase was supposed to last seven days, but Elon says Tesla will hold off until version 10.2 of the beta is finished before releasing it to the public.
FSD Beta 10.2 is expected to be released at midnight next Friday.
Many people who have worked hard to maintain high Safety Ratings may be disappointed by this news, but it may provide a chance for others to improve their scores in order to be considered for the beta.
Version 10.1 of the FSD Beta was just released last week. Version 10.1 added features including the ability to reverse while driving on Autopilot, however it didn’t integrate highway and city driving on the same Autopilot stack, as was planned.
In version 10.2, we want to see the highway and city Autopilot code combined. When Tesla introduced its vision-only Autopilot update in beta 9.0, city driving became significantly better. When Tesla combines highway and city Autopilot usage into one, we expect to see similar benefits.
