OnePlus Banned Once Again In Germany For Selling Smartphones Over Patent Lawsuit

Last year Oppo and OnePlus were banned from selling smartphones in Germany over a patent dispute with Nokia and this issue was resolved this year, a few months ago. Well, it seems like OnePlus has a hard luck in Germany, as the company has now once again been banned from selling smartphones in the country.

But this time Nokia is not the reason for this ban, it’s a patent dispute between OnePlus and InterDigital over key patents for 5G and other mobile technologies. OnePlus online store in Germany has no smartphones for sale, though its other devices are available.

As per an official statement by OnePlus, “OnePlus places high value on intellectual property rights and fair access to standard essential patents, which is essential for driving innovation in the industry. We will continue to negotiate with InterDigital and wish to solve this matter amicably. Meanwhile, our commitment in Europe remains unchanged and will continue to provide excellent products and services to our users.”

There is currently no information as to when smartphones will be available again on the German website. But as OnePlus said it will continue to negotiate with InterDigital, it is expected that soon both the companies will reach a solution.
